INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING ADVISOR (REMOTE/PART-TIME/FULL-TIME)

This role is for a motivated and goal-oriented professional with proven experience in institutional fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement. You will be offered unique exposure to a wide portfolio of PIN's work across humanitarian, early recovery, and development. Together with the team, you will strive for improved institutional funding. You would become a member of the Institutional Fundraising Unit, part of the Knowledge and Learning Department, a dynamic team of technical, MEAL, and program development advisors.

Your main responsibilities:

• Donor engagement and intel (30%)
  • Prepare global donor engagement strategies
  • Act as a focal point for specific donors
  • Support positioning towards identified donors in line with the Country Programme Strategies and PIN Strategy
  • Provide long-term support to specific Country programmes
  • Support to in-country fundraising strategies
• Project design and proposal development (70%)
  • Lead/write/review proposals to institutional donors (DG INTPA, DG ECHO, BHA, FCDO, CzDA, UN, GAC, etc.)
  • Lead and/or support partner negotiations including teaming and pre-bid agreements
  • Ensure proposed projects comply with donor requirements and PIN strategic priorities
  • Coordinate required technical inputs with other PIN Units (especially Knowledge & Learning department)
  • Conduct capacity building of HQ and country-based staff on proposal development and donor positioning

Your profile:

• Proven experience in developing and managing complex proposals
• Proven track record in securing highly competitive bids (e.g. from DG INTPA, DG ECHO, USAID, FCDO, SDC, GAC, UN agencies etc.)
• Candidates with a strong DG INTPA and/or USAID (aside from BHA) experience are in particular encouraged to apply
• Experience in commercial contracts is an advantage
• Experience in the INGO sector or donors' agencies
• Proven knowledge of various donors’ strategies (DG INTPA, DG ECHO, USAID, FCDO, SDC, GAC, UN agencies, etc.)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage (French, Portuguese, Arabic, etc.)
• Ability to perform under time pressure, to manage multiple tasks, and to work independently and effectively in fast-paced, multicultural environments
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, coaching, and mentoring skills
• Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an eye for proposal messaging, themes, proposal aesthetics, and content
• Have the ability to both coordinate different teams and participate in different team environments
