People in Need, o.p.s. announces a vacancy for an IT Specialist supporting the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy.
People in Need has long supported civic groups and individuals from countries with repressive regimes who strive to uphold basic human rights and democratic ideas, and often become victims of unjust persecution by state authorities for their views and activities. The Human Rights Division's international team carries out its activities in more than 18 countries.
We are now looking for a new colleague to join this team, who will do routine IT support for approx. 50 people in an international environment, develop the use of modern technologies and take care of information security.
Occupation: part-time/full-time (0,6 - 1,0)
Employment contract: permanent
Salary: 40 - 50 000 CZK gross/month for full time (depending on your experience)
Start date: as soon as possible (by appointment)

Depending on your experience, your job description will include:

  • routine IT support (computers, phones, printers, user software, creating manuals);
  • IT support strongly focused on information security (encryption configuration, access control);
  • managing the development and implementation of new information systems (gathering and analysing user requirements, outsourcing work);
  • server and network administration.

What should the ideal candidate look like?

  • At least 3 years of experience in IT or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field;
  • long-term active interest in information security;
  • previous work experience in a cybersecurity position a great advantage;
  • practical experience with information security software tools (firewall, password manager, VPN, disk encryption, electronic signatures, antivirus,...);
  • Czech language at B2 level and willingness to improve it further, good level of spoken and written English (some colleagues are foreigners);
  • diligence, reliability, independence, willingness to travel abroad for short periods of time;
  • ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and produce precise guidelines;
  • willingness to learn new things and support colleagues.
