Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

We are one of the largest non-governmental organizations in Central Europe. 

We focus on humanitarian aid, development cooperation, human rights support, and education.  

We are looking for a senior cybersecurity specialist to join our team at our Prague headquarters.  

Full-time: 1.0 

Start: August 2025 (or by agreement) 

Employment: permanent contract 

Location: Prague 2  


Your responsibilities will include:  

  • developing and implementing a strategic cybersecurity risk management approach;  

  • creating and regularly updating detailed procedures and internal policies, 

  • preparing and leading cybersecurity training sessions;

  • providing expert IT support to staff;

  • researching available technologies and managing their implementation;  

  • monitoring information security status, vulnerabilities, and external risks;  

  • managing security permissions;  

  • addressing cybersecurity incidents; 

  • communicating with external IT service providers;

  • optimizing internal IT processes within the cybersecurity context; 

  • evaluating the impact of proposed security measures on the organization’s operations;  

  • any other tasks identified as important and agreed upon.

What we expect from you:  

  • broad IT knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity;  

  • university degree in a technical field or a technical secondary school education;  

  • practical knowledge of common security standards and methodologies is an advantage; 

  • excellent communication skills in both Czech and English;  

  • ability to work very independently, reliably, and carefully; willing to help colleagues with issues outside your expertise;  

  • basic administration skills for servers (Windows and Unix) and networks;  

  • advanced system administration skills are an advantage;  

  • experience with penetration testing is a plus.
