People in Need (PIN) is a Czech-based international non-governmental organization (NGO) that has provided humanitarian and development assistance across more than 20 countries since 1992. Today, PIN stands as one of the largest organizations of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, supporting vulnerable communities in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. PIN empowers civil society, advocates for human rights, and promotes social inclusion both at home and abroad.
About the Armenian Programme of People in Need:
People in Need established a country programme in Armenia in 2003. PIN’s goal in Armenia is a strong civil society that takes an active part in poverty reduction and sustainable development. We provide humanitarian assistance and support disaster preparedness and empower local civil society actors and support strengthen resilience of local communities to disinformation. PIN’s team of 19 staff currently has office in Yerevan PIN’s current projects are funded by the EU, OFFI and Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
About the role:
Country Director (CD) will provide leadership and management to country program team and oversee program quality and program development. CD will represent PIN to donors and will ensure coordination with relevant local stakeholders and partners.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Senior Management and Strategic Planning
- Represent PIN at national level, and be responsible for strategic leadership of the country programme
- Overall supervision of the program implementation and regular updates of PIN Armenia Country Programme Strategy
- Lead the Senior Management Team, and oversee coordination of the whole country programme
Project Development and Representation
- Oversee project development in line with country programs strategy and RDD strategy
- Actively contribute to development and design of new programs and project proposals
- Network and position PIN with donors and key stakeholders to actively seek funding opportunities, help to increase the quality of proposals, understand donor priorities and ensure coordination
- Represent PIN at meetings with government partners, regional and local authorities, donors, local civil society, other INGOs, coordination bodies and other relevant stakeholders
Human Resource Management
- Plan HR needs, capacity building needs for senior staff and ensure sufficient human resources for the projects to meet its objectives
- Line management of senior team members including Head of Programs, Head of Systems and Operations, HR Manager and Comms Officer
- Monitor implementation of key policies to ensure equality and diversity within the team
- Support, motivate and consult the country programme’s staff
Main requirements:
- Solid leadership and staff management skills, with a record of managing large, diverse teams and contributing to staff capacity building
- Proven international experience of at least five years in team management, project development and management
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Experience within the region and understanding of local dynamics preferable
- Technical expertise within one of the strategic sectors will be an advantage (locally-led development, civil society strengthening, social protection and inclusion).
- Knowledge of institutional donor environment and experience with donor relations, strategic programme planning
- Reliable and self-reliant personality with responsible and systematic approach to work
- Dynamic and result-oriented profile
- Ability to organize and plan effectively
- Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
We offer:

- Salary & Benefits: Salary based on PIN’s salary scale and HR policies; expected salary range between 3250 - 4000 EUR super gross based on experience.
