Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension

Position Summary

The Head of Operation (HoO) is a member of the country programme senior management (together with the Country Director (CD), Head of Programmes (HoP), Head of Finance (HoF) and Security manager (SM)) and shares responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of People in Need’s (PIN) country programme. Specifically, the role of the HoO is to manage and improve the support systems and operations required to achieve this objective comprising of the Human Resources (HR), Administration, Procurement and Logistics agendas. In performing this role, the HoO also ensures an enabling environment for the implementation of the country programme, while maintaining operations and systems that meet with the accountability requirements of PIN and its donors. HoO also directly leads the process of the development and staff capacity building across the departments in terms of the systems and operations.

Main Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Management of Human Resources and capacity development
  • Logistics and Procurement management
  • Ensuring external and internal compliance
  • Administration

For this position, we consider important:

  • University graduate
  • Education (university or secondary level) in business, procurement, logistics or similar study programmes
  • Previous experience in an operations-related position preferred
  • Communicative level of English (minimum of active B2)
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with different groups of people and to respect the different cultural background
  • Ability to work independently and effectively
  • Ability to deal with complex compliance agenda
  • Analytical skills and systematic approach
  • Responsibility, ownership, proactive approach, flexibility
  • Strong training/coaching skills
  • Keen eye on details and passion for working with numbers
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with project management is welcome

PIN Offers:

  • Salary as per PIN scale: 2150-2350 EUR (depending on the seniority level) + 1200 EUR per diems
  • Type of contract: consultancy contract
