People in Need (PIN) is calling for applications for the position of a Project Manager for the Global Program within the Centre for Human rights and Democracy. The primary goal of People in Need's Centre for Human Rights and Democracy is to support independent individuals and groups in countries with repressive regimes who are the target of persecution, harassment, or arrests because of their opinions or activities, and to strengthen civil society in countries that are going through democratic transformation.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Project Manager in the Global Team is responsible for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of projects covering more than one HRD (Centre for Human Rights and Democracy) target region. This includes regular coordination with the relevant regional PMs, assigned Financial Manager, in case relevant for the project, HRD FSTP manager and Direct Aid Administrator, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer, Systems and Operations Specialist and other relevant colleagues. In case of the project relevant for the Relief and Development Department, they also cooperate with the relevant colleague there, as well as project partners from outside People in Need.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinating the implementation of multi-regional projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
  • Cooperating with the Finance Manager on project budgets and spending
  • Ensure monitoring of all activities in cooperation with MEL Coordinator, compile collected data into reports for donor  
  • Administration of project documentation
  • Collaboration with other members of the Global Team on implementation of specific methodologies and ensuring quality across projects
  • Collaborating and coordinating with external partner organizations
  • Traveling abroad for coordination and monitoring of project activities, as well as to participate in networking and advocacy events
  • Develops or oversees the development of project proposals, designs narrative, budget and other attachments within the Global Team

QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in social sciences, human rights, development, demography analysis or statistics or any other relevant field;
  • At least three years’ experience at national or international level in the area of project management in civil society, human rights, media, social work, or international development
  • Track record of managing multi-country or multi-regional projects spanning more than 12 months is an advantage
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English; good level of written and spoken Spanish is an advantage;
  • Experience with project design, proposal development, report-writing in the area of civil society support
  • Ability to work under stress, follow projects through to completion with strict deadlines and without loss of attention to detail;
  • Effectively work independently and as a team member, ability to work closely with colleagues abroad, self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals.
