About People in Need (PIN) is a Czech-based Non-Governmental Organization that provides relief and development assistance in over 20 countries around the world. Formed in 1992, PIN has grown to be the biggest organisation of its kind in Central Europe, providing relief where it is needed, and empowering civil society in Czech Republic, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. People in Need activities focus on four main areas: Emergency Relief and Development Coordination, Human Rights, Social Integration Programs, and Educational Programs.

Position summary: The Language Content Manager will work in close collaboration with PIN’s Communication & Advocacy teams both at HQ and at our country programmes across the world.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the development/production of engaging communication and advocacy materials for PIN’s English Social Media platforms
  • Manage and promote content on PIN’s English Social Media platforms
  • Reach out to journalists and interested media through social media to promote PIN’s work and the stories of our beneficiaries
  • Support UN information campaigns (Women’s Day, Teachers’ Day, Food Day, Environment day, other anniversaries etc.)
  • Proofread and edit communications material from the missions in collaboration with the authors
  • Depending on the candidate interests and experience, further tasks may be included according to preferences

Requirements:

  • Preferably English native speaker
  • Strong English-language writing skills - ability to put texts written by non-native speakers into correct and appropriate English
  • Experience managing and creating interesting content, engaging content for social media
  • Interest in the non-profit sector, international development, international relations, communication, journalism
  • Experience with editing, proofreading
