USAID

USAID is the world’s premier international development agency that helps build communities, advance democracy, reduce poverty, and provide tools for a better quality of life. USAID has supported PIN’s crisis in Armenia that started in September of 2020 in Nagorno Karabakh, in addition to the pandemic. A total of 45 institutions including 36 health care institutions and 9 shelters throughout eight regions have received aid as part of the project. In addition, USAID’ Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance has funded the following projects lead by People in Need: • PIN’s cash-for-work activities in Syria to help displaced Syrians make a livable wage and have access to healthcare; • Provide water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) across Ethiopia in addition to Covid-19 relief; • Fund the “How are you, really?” project to help provide mental healthcare and support children, adults and seniors living in conflict ridden areas in Eastern Ukraine; • Help create jobs, strengthen economic resilience and produce socially inclusive and environment friendly businesses in Afghanistan in an effort to help them on their road to economic recovery; • Help fight Covid-19 and racism and discrimination in Nepal.
