
Social Cohesion and Locally Led Peace Building Technical Advisor

Position Summary:
This role will provide technical support and guidance on social cohesion and locally led peacebuilding approaches across Syria, to ensure a coordinated, relevant and locally led approach, based on evidence and able to measure outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical
- Finalisation of the programmatic approach to Social Cohesion and Locally Led Peace Building, including updating the Theory of Change and finalizing a framework that includes measurable outcomes;
- Ensuring GEDSI is at the centre of the design and delivery of all activities
- Providing inputs and recommendations to a range of stakeholders, including donors, authorities and community-led structures;
- Participate, coordinate or lead assessments, research and analysis in relation to inclusive Locally Led Peace Building;
- Review and evaluate funding proposals addressing inclusive social cohesion and locally led peacebuilding.
Management and implementation
- Support the direct delivery, monitoring and evaluation of concrete activities and sub-projects and ensure the realisation of the approach;
- Regular monitoring and evaluation of the delivery of projects by partners, including suggesting course corrections, additional capacity building and needed changes in order to deliver meaningful and measurable social cohesion and locally led peacebuilding outcomes.
Capacity Building
- Prepare and deliver relevant and targeted capacity building, including formal training, on social Cohesion, locally led peacebuilding and GEDSI to a range of actors, including community groups, partner organisations, programme staff and relevant local and regional authorities.
External Representation & Coordination
- Is formally as well as informally networking and developing partnerships with all relevant stakeholders (government, media, universities, private sector, NGO sector) in the Czech Republic and Europe;
- Formally represents PIN at relevant meetings, events and seminars;
- In cooperation with PIN Media department represents PIN in Czech media (e.g. produce press releases, write articles, give interviews to media).
And fulfils any other tasks as required.
Main requirements:
Technical competencies:
- University degree, ideally in related field
- 10 years of experience in field of peacebuilding and social cohesion
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required (written & spoken)
Skills/knowledge:
- Profound knowledge and experience in regard to social cohesion and peacebuilding in the Syrian or regional context
- Proven history of successful design and delivery of locally led peacebuilding initiatives and/or programmes
- Experience of ensuring GEDSI is at the center of the design and delivery of implementation
- Experience of preparing and delivering capacity building in the sector for range of stakeholders
- Proven experience of preparing research, analysis and technical guidance in the fields of social cohesion and peacebuilding
- Representation experience including building and maintaining relationships with local authorities, partners and other relevant actors
- Experience of overseeing coordination between organisations, including leading meetings, working groups and forums
- Strong team management and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of logistics, HR and finance management is an asset.

PIN Offers:

- Salary based on PIN’s salary scale and HR policies; expected 3000 EUR super gross (based on experience).
Additional allowances include:
- Monthly Subsistence Allowance of 1440 EUR;
