About the role:

The Grant Development Advisor (GDA) is responsible for supporting Balkans (BiH, Kosovo and NM) and other country programs within EaPnB region the in evidence-based proposal development.
Main scope of expertise are CERV, Erasmus +, LIFE, Horizon and CREA EU programs. GDA lead proposal writing and participates in strategic discussions, consults, and provides guidance during the programme development phase. GDA main counterparts in CPs are Head of Programmes (HoPs), Grant Development Coordinators, and M&E teams. The PQA reports to the Deputy Regional Director, who is her line manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Grants Development, Knowledge Sharing, and Utilization of Organizational Learning:
  • Assists CPs in identifying grant opportunities (specifically under EU programs: CERV, Horizon, Erasmus +, CREA and LIFE), participates in communication with donors, and contributes to the diversification of funding from institutional donors.
  • Support preparation and update of CP fundraising strategy
  • Support country programs with positioning towards donors and meetings with donors representatives
  • Supports country teams in deciding which opportunities to pursue, based on their strategies, capacities, and the potential for added value for PIN in the country/region.
  • Supports CP teams with the preparation of assessments and stakeholder mapping.
  • Leads or supports the proposal-writing process and assists country program teams with the full and timely submission of complete proposals and annexes.
  • Builds the capacity of grants development team and other project staff in proposal development and provides feedback and on-the-job coaching in proposal writing and development.
  • Maintains a database of project proposals under development and those submitted; prepares statistics on regional success rates, etc.
  • Promotes experience-sharing within the region.
  • Promotes the utilization of internal knowledge, learning, and evaluation findings in new proposals.
  • Preparation and promotion of new tools focused on improvement of proposal design and programme development process (guide on GNG etc.)
And fulfils any other tasks as required.

Main requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in grants development
  • At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian and development sector
  • Appropriate education degree in either humanitarian aid or development is welcome.
  • Excellent knowledge of different institutional donors´ compliance regulations and requirements
  • Excellent proposal writing and reporting skills with humanitarian and development donors.
  • Experience with EU donors CERV, Erasmus +, LIFE, Horizon and CREA.
  • Knowledge of project cycle management and understanding of logical frameworks and result based management approaches.
  • Excellent coordination skills - ability to coordinate with other PIN departments, good communication skills and time management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with different groups of people and respect their different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential challenges and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in grant documentation and reporting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
